TEHRAN The Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its Hungarian side yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to boost customs cooperation between the two countries.

At the signing ceremony, the head of Iran's Customs Administration, Mahdi Karbassian, expressed hope that economic and commercial relations between the two countries would further be expanded through customs cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides also voiced their interest in exchanging information about smuggling and commercial frauds, fighting against drug-trafficking, exchanging experts and offering training courses.

For better implementation of this MOU, the heads of the Iranian and Hungarian customs offices will meet once a year.

In conclusion, the two sides agreed to finalize the memorandum of understanding during a future meeting between the two heads of state.
